Democratic Detonation has only been live in Helldivers 2 for a few hours, and divers are already reporting at least one frustrating bug causing a huge headache and the loss of precious Democratic resources.
Along with the release of the new Warbond, six new high-level ship upgrades were added to the roster, ready for players to use on the battlefield.
However, the Superior Packing Methodology upgrade is currently bugged and not working as it should.
Mind you, this upgrade costs 150 normal samples, 150 rare samples, 15 super samples, and 20,000 Requisition, which is a hefty price to pay for something that doesn&#8217;t work.
Divers on Reddit quickly reported that after spending this huge amount of resources on the upgrade, they were shocked to find that when equipped, it does not resupply the maximum amount of magazines as it states it does.
From the in-game description, it reads: Resupply boxes refill support weapons with the maximum number of carriable magazines.
Currently, this is not the case. Upon resupply, you will end up with the same number of magazines as you would without the upgrade equipped, which is totally a pain in the ass.
It has been reported that the bug affects all support weapons, so it&#8217;s devastating to players who purchased the upgrade and were unaware of the problem.

<h2>Does Arrowhead Have a QA Team?</h2>
This incident isn&#8217;t the first time players have been frustrated with game-breaking bugs and issues on update day, leading many users online to question whether or not Arrowhead Studios / Sony have a proper QA team (I&#8217;d assume they do?).
As a player, you expect something simple like a ship upgrade to work on release, but defects like this seem to slip through the cracks repeatedly and don&#8217;t always get cleaned up before the next content drop is introduced.
Unfortunately, they are not super quick to address issues of this nature, so there is a good chance we&#8217;ll be waiting for a week, if not longer, for a fix.
Long story short &#8211; DO NOT BUY Superior Packing Methodology until they fix this bug or your precious resources will be sent to the void with nothing in return.
Update: The devs are aware of this bug/issue and are currently investigating a fix. We will update you when more information is available.

A Frustrating Bug Is Causing Helldivers to Waste Precious Resources on New Ship Upgrades

The Democratic Detonation Warbond dropped today, and as usual, with most updates so far, new, unannounced features have been quietly dropped into the game without any heads-up.
Six new high-level ship upgrades have landed today and should provide a refreshing change of pace for max-level players who are ready for some new content.
Heads up, these new upgrades cost a ton, so if you haven&#8217;t been saving up over the last few weeks, you&#8217;ll have to rely on your squad to get you caught up.
The new modules are detailed below:

After reviewing each, it seems players are primarily interested in the XXL Weapons Bay and Atmospheric Monitoring, which makes sense as they affect the barrages our Democratic brothers are so in love with.
They are probably the most sensible purchase now if you can afford any of these.
Blast Absorption could be useful when new, more powerful sentries are introduced, but for now, it seems like a waste.
There also seems to be an additional upgrade missing from the Robotics Workshop, as it only displays 7/8 even when you have them all unlocked, so keep your eyes open for possible new surprise drops.
Overall, it is a nice addition of some fresh, potentially game-changing content along with this update.

6 New High-Level Ship Modules Have Landed in Helldivers 2

A cryptic tweet from Arrowhead Studios, the developers of Helldivers 2, has sparked a wave of speculation among fans and players.
Sent at 7:31 a.m. EST early this Wednesday, the tweet was a binary pattern of 1s and 0s, which, when decoded, revealed the enigmatic question: &#8216;Where is Karl?&#8217;

Shortly after this post, the tweet was quite abruptly deleted; The Twitter account was quick to release a follow-up in the character of their own Ministry Of Truth&#8217;, dispelling any rumors of the former tweet as an &#8216;illegal automaton broadcast&#8217; and instead putting it down to a &#8216;minor fault.&#8217;

Amidst this quite inexplicable sequence of cryptic tweets, thousands of online followers have begun theorizing exactly what they meant.
Some have devised that it has something to do with Karl Marx, the German-born philosopher and revolutionary socialist, due to the automaton&#8217;s synonymy with the ideology of socialism (as propagated by Super Earth&#8217;s Ministry Of Truth).
Others have linked the tweet to be a joking nod to the CEO of Arrowhead Studios (which has since been debunked).
Still, the almost unanimous theory is that it is related to the video game, &#8216;Deep Rock Galactic.&#8217;
Released in 2020 by Coffee Stain Studios, the developers of DRG have claimed in the past to have reached out to Arrowhead Studios regarding a collaboration.
It is also worth noting that both developers have commended each other&#8217;s games in their separate studio streams.

Fans of the developers have also pointed out that the name &#8216;Karl&#8217; is referenced heavily in Deep Rock Galactic, and although unseen, he is theorized to be a mystical and legendary figure of the dwarf race, and (although again, just theory) the dwarf that all playable dwarfs descend from.
My say on the matter is this: Though not entirely out of the realm of possibility, this is more than likely a subtle nod to a fellow indie developer, being a game that is respected and loved among the studio and fans alike.
However, with the knowledge that the DRG developers have reached out to Arrowhead before, it is understandable for any fan to get excited about the prospect of collaborating between two games with such lively and notable fanbases.
Only time will tell what comes of this potential partnership, but I&#8217;m sure that wherever he may be, Karl will be pleased with the recent attention he&#8217;s gained.

Attention Helldivers:
Within your Super Destroyers&#8217; &#8220;Ship Module,&#8221; there is a new module called &#8220;Catalog Expansion&#8221; under &#8220;Bridge&#8221;. It currently has no new description, affected stratagems, or price.
Previous upgrades from that module have been &#8220;Targeting Software Upgrade,&#8221; which reduces the orbital stratagems by 1 second, &#8220;Nuclear Radar,&#8221; which increases enemy ping radius by 50 meters, and &#8220;Power Steering,&#8221; which only improves Hellpod steering when deployed.
With these three modules having almost nothing in common, there is no telling what &#8220;Catalog Expansion&#8221; could be. Based on the name, one thing players could assume is it could unlock a whole bunch more stratagems.

Helldivers over on Discord speculate that it could be for vehicles since they aren&#8217;t secondary weapons, which would fit the category.
Another point is that there could be a new category for the mechsuit and vehicles, which could explain the 7/8 bug you see when looking at every stratagem. Since this is very recent (last couple of hours), there is no information on what it will do.
Leaked videos show new &#8220;Ship Modules&#8221; expanding the ship and making it bigger. So far, most of the leaks have been confirmed, so we can keep our hopes up that this will stay in the game.
If players have learned anything, it should be that Arrowhead knows mostly what it&#8217;s doing. They allow leaks, data mining, and the rampant spreading of information; it&#8217;s all free advertisement for them.
Helldivers have much to look forward to in the coming weeks, including new ship upgrades, a new Warbond releasing on April 11th, and potentially a new faction, the Illuminate.

Helldivers 2's 'Catalog Expansion' Sparks Wild Speculation

With the automatons reforming following their supposed eradication from the Helldivers 2 universe, fans have begun to anticipate what will happen next for this game.
However, Arrowhead Studios (Helldivers 2&#8217;s developer) has taken a relatively silent approach to introducing new features, choosing instead to let the game evolve by itself without the need to flaunt it to the Internet.
Although this strategy of actions over words has seen outstanding success, the player base has made it clear that a list of technical issues and bugs has sometimes made it unplayable.
The good news is that Helldivers 2&#8217;s new update, &#8220;patch 01.000.202&#8221; addresses many of these issues.
Many fans will be pleased to hear that many of the recent technical complaints they have brought up have been considered and resolved with this newly released patch.
The update has focused on fixing duly noted issues, such as game crashes, which have recently infested and ruined the experience for many unfortunate players.
Whether it would be completing objectives, deploying to missions, or merely playing the game, these obstacles have been removed so that the player(s) can enjoy themselves without the paranoia of the game closing on itself.
Furthermore, a soft lock issue involving picking up medals and super credits has been fixed.
The studio has also considered other issues to be fixed in the next few days, adding problems such as scope misalignment and cross-platform issues to its&#8217; known issues&#8217; list.
Though a relatively simple patch, this update shows the swiftness and effectiveness of Arrowhead&#8217;s team.
They can listen to a community and provide a resolution to a game they have a lot of passion for.
The ability to take on board feedback from a community and fix an issue as quickly as it arises is very beneficial to the live service format that Helldivers 2 follows.

We have updated the stats UI for weapons to take into account any explosive damage done by them. This is to give weapons that do damage with explosive projectiles a more fair representation in the UI. Most notably affected is the PLAS-1 Scorcher.

Known Issues 
These are issues that were either introduced by this patch and are being worked on, or are from a previous version and have not yet been fixed. This list is not exhaustive, and we are continuing to identify issues and create fixes. These are organized by feedback, reports, severity, etc.
Various issues involving friend invites and cross-play:

<li>Player name may show up blank on the other player&#8217;s friend list.</li>
<li>Friend Request cannot be accepted when the requesting player changed their username before the request was accepted.</li>
<li>Cross-platform friend invites might not show up in the Friend Requests tab.</li>
<li>Players cannot unfriend players befriended via friend code.</li>
<li>Players cannot unblock players that were not in their Friends list beforehand.</li>
<li>Damage-over-time effects may only apply when dealt by the host.</li>
<li>Players may experience delays in Medals and Super Credits payouts.</li>
<li>Enemies that bleed out do not progress Personal Orders and Eradicate missions.</li>
<li>Certain weapons like the Sickle cannot shoot through foliage.</li>
<li>Scopes on some weapons such as the Anti-Materiel Rifle are slightly misaligned.</li>
<li>Arc weapons sometimes behave inconsistently and sometimes misfire.</li>
<li>Spear?s targeting is inconsistent, making it hard to lock-on to larger enemies.</li>
<li>Stratagem beam might attach itself to an enemy but it will deploy to its original location.</li>
<li>Explosions do not break your limbs (except for when you fly into a rock).</li>
<li>Area around Automaton Detector Tower makes blue stratagems such as the hellbomb bounce and be repelled when trying to call them down close to the tower.</li>
<li>Planet liberation reaches 100% at the end of every Defend mission.</li>
