Overview of Zefia
Zefia is one of the six planets in the Tanis Sector, known for its xenobiology research facilities and scientific contributions to Super Earth. Despite its peaceful origins, Zefia became a battleground during the Second Galactic War, as Automaton forces launched repeated invasions to disrupt Super Earth’s progress and prosperity.
Topography
Zefia’s terrain is similar to Shallus and Tibit, featuring dense alien flora, towering rock formations, and expansive research outposts. The planet’s rugged landscape made it an ideal location for scientific exploration, but it also posed challenges for military operations, as its uneven terrain limited large-scale deployments.
History
For most of the Second Galactic War, Zefia remained a peaceful colony, primarily serving as a xenobiology outpost for Super Earth scientists studying alien fauna and flora. However, this tranquility was shattered when the Automatons, driven by their relentless expansionist programming, targeted the planet.
On September 19th, 2184, the Automatons successfully occupied Clasa, positioning themselves for further conquests in the Tanis Sector. Despite this, Helldiver forces delayed their advance, preventing further expansion into neighboring planets. Recognizing the looming threat, Zefia’s colonists and scientists began evacuating research materials while maintaining a close watch on Clasa’s growing enemy presence.
For nearly a month, Zefia anticipated an attack, and on October 9th, 2184, their fears became reality. Automaton forces launched a large-scale assault on the planet, but thanks to rapid Helldiver mobilization, the defense held strong. By the end of the day, Zefia was successfully defended, allowing Super Earth forces to refocus their efforts elsewhere.
However, Automaton aggression did not cease. On October 22nd, 2184, just hours after their elite Jet Brigade suffered a decisive defeat at Marfark, the Automatons launched another attack on Zefia. Unfortunately, this coincided with a major Terminid invasion of Gatria, stretching Helldiver resources thin. Given Zefia’s remote location and the prioritization of other military operations, the planet received no reinforcements. By October 23rd, Zefia fell to the Automatons, marking a significant loss for Super Earth.
Despite its occupation, Zefia remains a vital target for future liberation efforts, as its scientific importance and strategic position in the Tanis Sector make it a critical foothold in the war against the Automatons.
