Overview of Yed Prior
Yed Prior is one of the six planets in the Tanis Sector, known for its whitened shorelines, crimson terrain, and fishing settlements. Once a quiet and peaceful Super Earth colony, it became a battleground as the Automatons sought to expand their influence. Despite efforts to prepare for an invasion, Yed Prior was ultimately overwhelmed, with its people forced into hiding as the planet fell under Automaton control.
Topography
Yed Prior features a unique landscape, similar to Charon Prime, Ingmar, and Ubanea. Its shorelines are bleached white, contrasting with the deep crimson soil and rugged terrain. The planet has vast, open spaces with minimal natural cover, making ground-based combat challenging. Its strategic location and valuable resources made it a prime target for Automaton aggression.
History
For most of the Second Galactic War, Yed Prior remained an unremarkable but stable Super Earth colony, its people thriving along the coasts and maintaining a quiet, self-sufficient existence. However, the Automatons’ relentless pursuit of expansion would soon disrupt its peace.
By September 2184, the Tanis Sector had become a major frontline, as the Automatons sought the resources necessary to rebuild after their devastating losses at the Battle of Troost. The fall of Clasa on September 19th left Yed Prior, Zefia, and Demiurg encircled, prompting colonial officials to immediately fortify their defenses in anticipation of an attack.
Following the fall of Zefia on October 23rd, intelligence reports indicated a massive Automaton buildup at Clasa, signaling an imminent assault. As refugees flooded into Yed Prior, the situation grew increasingly desperate. The Automatons launched their attack on October 27th, catching the colony’s defenders off guard. Outnumbered and outgunned, they issued an urgent distress call to the Helldivers, but support never arrived, as the Corps was focused on defending Gatria and preserving the Terminid Research Preserve in the Jin Xi Sector.
Despite a brave resistance effort, Yed Prior fell on October 28th. Many of its citizens sought refuge in underground bunkers and hidden sanctuaries, waiting for the day Helldivers would return to liberate their home. As of now, all FTL Lines leading to Yed Prior remain under Automaton control, leaving the colony isolated from Super Earth’s reach.
