Overview of Vog-Sojoth
Vog-Sojoth is one of the six planets in the Tanis Sector, known for its harsh, icy terrain and glacial valleys. Once a thriving Super Earth colony, it became a battleground against the Automatons, suffering multiple invasions and a prolonged occupation. Despite several attempts at liberation, the Automatons maintained control, using the planet as a launch point for further offensives into the sector.
Topography
Vog-Sojoth is a frigid, mountainous planet, similar to Marfark, Vega Bay, and Vandalon IV. Its icy peaks and expansive glacial valleys make navigation treacherous, limiting ground-based mobility. The harsh climate and frequent snowstorms obscure visibility, providing natural concealment for both defenders and attackers.
History
For decades, Vog-Sojoth remained a peaceful Super Earth colony, its settlers thriving in the extreme cold while exporting valuable resources. However, after the Automatons invaded Cyberstan and occupied the Valdis Sector, they began aggressively expanding into nearby planets, including Lesath. In response, Vog-Sojoth’s Colonial Overseer severed its FTL Lines, hoping to shield the Tanis Sector from the robotic onslaught.
By September 8, 2184, the Automatons launched a major assault from Lesath, coordinating an attack on Vog-Sojoth and Imber. With Imber’s titanium deposits deemed critical to Super Earth’s war effort, Helldivers were forced to prioritize its defense, leaving Vog-Sojoth vulnerable. While Colonial Defenders and Helldivers fought bravely, the planet’s defenses ultimately collapsed, falling under Automaton control.
From Vog-Sojoth, the Automatons launched further offensives, targeting Claorell and Clasa to prevent any counterattacks. The Helldivers, spread thin due to logistical constraints, were unable to reclaim the planet, allowing the Automatons to entrench their forces.
Despite a determined liberation attempt that brought Vog-Sojoth to 70% freed, shifting Major Orders pulled Helldivers elsewhere, causing all progress to be lost. As of January 2185, the planet remains under Automaton control, with no clear timeline for its liberation. The unexpected resurgence of the Illuminate has further delayed efforts, leaving Vog-Sojoth in limbo, its citizens awaiting the return of liberty.
