Overview of Turing
Turing is one of four planets in the Umlaut Sector, featuring dense forests, rocky plateaus, and large lakes. It is home to the Galaxy’s leading Xenoentomology Centre, where Super Earth’s top Terminid experts and FTL engineers develop High-Efficiency Alcubierre Drives. Its strategic location has made it a critical stronghold in the war against the Terminids.
Topography
Turing’s surface is covered in vibrant purplish grasses that release large amounts of pollen into the air. It features a mix of tall purple trees and shorter red varieties, creating a distinctive alien landscape. Due to its importance as a Barrier Planet, recreational photography is restricted by Statute C-30817.
History
Turing played a key role in Operation Valiant Enclosure, where the Terminid Control System (TCS) was deployed to eliminate and contain Terminid infestations. However, on April 29, 2184, a TCS failure caused a massive Terminid outbreak, leading to near destruction of the Umlaut Sector. The Helldivers shut down the TCS on May 3rd, preventing Turing from becoming another Supercolony like Meridia.
After the declaration of the Second Galactic War, Turing became a critical battleground, frequently attacked by Terminids. The Helldivers valiantly defended it during multiple operations, including Operation Enduring Peace and Operation Glorious Xenocide, ensuring the planet’s survival.
Turing became even more significant when Super Earth ordered the construction of a new Xenoentomology Center, essential for Alcubierre Drive research. The Helldivers successfully defended the site, securing a major technological advancement for Super Earth.
By January 2185, the Xenoentomology Center made a breakthrough discovery—Gloom-induced mutations could dramatically increase E-710 yields, opening new energy possibilities. With Gloom-resistant technology now a top priority, the Helldivers continue to protect Turing, ensuring that Democracy’s scientific progress remains unstoppable.
