Overview of Termadon
Termadon is one of the five planets in the Quintus Sector, a remote frontier colony on the very edge of the Western Galactic Rim. Once a peaceful settlement, Termadon was ultimately drawn into the chaos of war as the Illuminate launched a relentless offensive against Super Earth.
Topography
Termadon shares geographical similarities with Bellatrix, Afoyay Bay, Volterra, Hort, and Achernar Secundus. Its landscape consists of rugged terrain, sprawling plateaus, and sparse forests. The climate is temperate, with occasional storms rolling in from its vast oceans. The planet’s scattered urban settlements were constructed in relative isolation due to its expansive, untamed wilderness.
Though its remoteness made Termadon seem like an unlikely target for conflict, it was precisely this isolation that made it vulnerable to external threats.
History
For much of its history, Termadon remained an unassuming frontier world. First discovered during the First Galactic War, the planet saw little in terms of major developments, with only occasional raids occurring between warring factions. It wasn’t until decades into the Great Democratization that colonization efforts began in earnest. Despite the harsh conditions and the planet’s distance from the Federation’s core worlds, its first settlers persevered, slowly building a network of urbanized communities across the planet’s surface.
However, the war would soon find its way to Termadon. When the Automatons launched an invasion of the nearby Severin Sector in February 2184, the Colonial Overseers of the Quintus Sector took decisive action. In a bid to contain the mechanized threat, they severed all FTL connections leading to Tibit, a nearby world that had been occupied by the Automatons. This strategic move ultimately proved effective, as the Automatons were later eradicated from the sector and decisively defeated in April.
Yet, despite escaping the war at that moment, Termadon would not remain untouched for long. In December 2184, an ancient enemy of Super Earth returned to the Milky Way: the Illuminate. Long thought to be extinct following their defeat in the First Galactic War, the Illuminate resurfaced with a vengeance, launching a series of raids against Federation colonies.
On January 24th, 2185, Termadon became one of their latest targets. The Illuminate sent an invasion fleet toward the planet with the intent of plundering resources and abducting its citizens. Though the Helldivers had been primarily deployed to the Terminid Front on the opposite end of the galaxy, they still managed to dispatch a contingent to aid in Termadon’s defense.
Despite their noble efforts, the Helldivers were unable to repel the invasion. After 12 hours of relentless fighting, the Illuminate successfully withdrew, leaving behind devastated cities and a population shaken by the horrors of war. Though Termadon remained under Super Earth’s control, its people would never forget the day when the shadows of an ancient foe darkened their skies once more.
