Overview of Shelt

Shelt is one of the four planets within the Talus Sector, known for its perennial forests and vibrant flora. Despite its initial peace and prosperity, Shelt became a key battleground in the Second Galactic War, facing multiple Automaton offensives during the Talus Campaign.

Topography

Shelt’s terrain is similar to Martale and Aurora Bay, characterized by dense forests, rolling hills, and colorful shrublands.

History

Shelt remained a thriving Super Earth colony for decades after the First Galactic War, benefiting from its lush environment and strategic location within the Talus Sector. However, this peace was shattered in April 2184, when the Automatons invaded the Valdis Sector.

Recognizing the threat, Gaellivare cut its FTL supply lines, effectively isolating the Talus Sector and shielding it from immediate incursions. Despite this, Shelt’s colonial overseer dismissed the possibility of an invasion, failing to prepare for future conflicts.

On September 6th, 2184, a resurgent Automaton vanguard from Mastia launched a surprise assault on Shelt, coinciding with a larger offensive on Gaellivare. In a desperate plea for assistance, Shelt’s colonists called for aid, scrambling to mount a defense.

Identifying these attacks as an attempt to secure Imber’s titanium deposits, Super Earth High Command ordered an immediate deployment of Helldivers to defend Shelt at all costs. The Helldiver counteroffensive successfully repelled the invasion the next day. However, this victory came at the cost of losing Gaellivare, forcing Helldivers to divert towards Imber to prevent another Automaton breakthrough. In doing so, Vog-Sojoth also fell to the Automatons.

After a brief respite, the Automatons in Mastia, now reinforced via their newly established supply line to Lesath, launched a dual assault on Shelt and Shallus. Despite being caught off guard, the Helldivers once again stood firm, displaying unwavering resilience and commitment. Their heroic defense ensured that Freedom would once again triumph over tyranny.
