Overview of Regnus
Regnus is one of the four planets in the Morgon Sector, known for its stable development and urbanized settlements before the war. Its terrain is comparable to Baldrick Prime and Irulta, making it a key colony in the Southern Galactic Rim.
Topography
Regnus features a mix of urban infrastructure, rolling hills, and arid plains. While not as densely populated as core Super Earth worlds, it served as a vital outpost for trade and resource production, supporting the expansion of Managed Democracy in the region.
History
Regnus was settled after the First Galactic War and remained a peaceful, thriving colony for many years. Like other planets in the Morgon Sector, its economy grew steadily, allowing for the construction of urbanized settlements and industrial facilities. With no major conflicts or upheavals, the colony flourished in relative obscurity.
However, this period of prosperity would come to a sudden halt. An ancient enemy of Super Earth, long believed to be eradicated, was lurking in the darkness, preparing to strike. The Illuminate, a race thought to be extinct for over a century, had returned to wage war against Liberty and Democracy.
On January 2nd, 2185, the Illuminate launched a surprise attack on Regnus, continuing a series of planetary raids that had begun the previous month. Their objective was clear: plunder the colony’s resources and abduct its citizens for their mysterious and sinister purposes.
The Helldivers, already spread thin across multiple war fronts, were only able to dispatch a limited force to resist the invasion. Despite their courage and determination, the enemy overwhelmed local defenses, exploiting their advanced technology and tactical superiority.
After 12 hours of relentless combat, the Illuminate forces successfully looted Regnus, extracting valuable resources and abducting colonists before vanishing into the void. Though the planet remains under Super Earth control, the raid exposed vulnerabilities in its defenses, leaving its remaining population in fear of future incursions.
