Overview of Mog

Mog is one of the four planets in the Morgon Sector, known for its urbanized infrastructure and cold, arctic environment. It became a critical battleground during the Second Galactic War, suffering multiple raids from the Illuminate, starting on December 16th, 2184, just a day after their first battle at Calypso.

Topography

Mog’s landscape is similar to Heeth, Vandalon IV, and Marfark, though it is far more urbanized than these planets. Due to its arctic climate, the planet experiences frequent blizzards and freezing conditions, making it a harsh but strategically important location. Positioned between the Rictus and Gallux sectors, Mog serves as a key spaceport, connecting six different planets across three sectors, further increasing its tactical significance in interstellar logistics.

History

Mog remained a peaceful and prosperous colony after its initial settlement during the Great Democratization following the First Galactic War. With its strong economic ties and well-developed trade networks, the planet thrived, sustaining an active urban population despite its harsh climate.

However, such prosperity would not go unnoticed by the enemies of Super Earth.

On December 16th, 2184, just one day after the Illuminate’s defeat at Calypso, the xenophobic alien force launched an aggressive assault on Mog, marking it as the third planet to be attacked in the Second Galactic War. Their strategy was clear: cripple Super Earth’s logistical network by capturing Genesis Prime within 12 hours, then launching a parallel attack on Mog to further disrupt supply lines.

However, the Helldivers, still riding the momentum of their victory at Calypso, rushed to the planet’s defense. Though outnumbered, they resisted the Illuminate forces, inflicting heavy casualties. Yet, despite their best efforts, the Illuminate would plunder Mog, stripping it of valuable resources before retreating and shifting their assault to Bellatrix.

Though the Helldivers managed to repel the initial invasion, Mog would not remain safe for long. On January 9th, 2185, just hours after their attack on Andar, the Illuminate launched another assault on Mog. This time, however, the Helldivers were spread thin, as they were simultaneously engaged with a Terminid outbreak on Terrek and an Automaton offensive at Matar Bay. With only a small contingent available, the battle for Mog’s survival would once again test the resilience of Super Earth’s bravest soldiers.
