Overview of Imber
Imber is one of the four planets in the Talus Sector, known for its rich titanium deposits and high-capacity storage facilities designed to preserve and protect refined titanium. Its remote location and harsh environmental conditions initially provided natural security against raiders and hostile forces. However, during the Second Galactic War, its strategic value made it a prime target for the Automatons.
Topography
Imber’s terrain is similar to Pöpli IX, Menkent, and Wezen, featuring scorching temperatures, high winds, and low precipitation. The planet experiences a constant cycle of wildfires, followed by brief periods of regrowth. Beneath its sand-blasted wastelands lie rich titanium reserves, making it an essential resource hub for Super Earth’s war effort.
History
On September 6, 2184, intercepted Automaton communications revealed their intent to seize Imber’s titanium storage facility. In response, the Colonial Overseer ordered immediate fortifications and weapons stockpiling, fearing that the fall of Gaellivare would bring Automaton forces to Imber’s doorstep.
The Automaton assault on Gaellivare was swift, and within a day, the enemy launched an attack on Imber. Thanks to extensive Helldiver support and prepared defenses, the Automaton incursion was repelled after two days of brutal desert combat.
However, the Automatons, undeterred by their defeat, regrouped with reinforcements from Lesath and launched a second assault, this time coordinated with an attack from Vog-Sojoth on Claorell. Despite the relentless onslaught, Helldivers successfully defended Imber in just 16 hours, securing its titanium stockpiles and preserving a vital supply chain for Super Earth’s industrial and military operations.
The victory at Imber not only delayed Automaton war production, but also ensured the continued safety of its workforce, who relied on titanium’s corrosion resistance to maintain critical chemical processing equipment. Thanks to the sacrifices of the Helldivers, job security and workplace safety on Imber remained intact, demonstrating how Democracy prevails against tyranny.
