Overview of Fenrir III
Fenrir III is one of four planets in the Umlaut Sector, known for its subzero climate and cratered terrain. It became infamous as the site where the Predator Strain of Terminids first emerged on February 15, 2185 during the Second Galactic War.
Topography
Fenrir III’s surface is dominated by grey, rocky plateaus, with sparse vegetation surviving its harsh cold. Frequent meteor storms have left the planet covered in craters, making outdoor travel hazardous.
History
Originally a peaceful mining colony, Fenrir III was overrun by Terminids in February 2184, marking one of Super Earth’s first major battles against the alien threat. The Helldivers launched multiple liberation campaigns, but the planet changed hands several times due to relentless Terminid assaults.
To counteract the infestation, the Terminid Control System (TCS) was installed in March 2184, dispersing a lethal neurotoxin to contain the insects. However, the Terminids evolved immunity, leading to the system’s failure in April 2184, sparking a new wave of battles.
During the Second Galactic War, Fenrir III was a strategic stronghold, targeted in major operations such as Operation Enduring Peace, Operation Iron Rain, and Operation Wormhole Spaghetti. In February 2185, the planet witnessed the emergence of the Predator Strain, a mutated Terminid force linked to The Gloom. The Helldivers successfully repelled the assault, securing Fenrir III as a vital research hub for E-710 and Dark Energy studies.
