Overview of Cyberstan
Cyberstan is one of the five planets within the Valdis Sector, known for its harsh icy environment and historical significance as the former homeworld of the Cyborgs. Once a stronghold for Cyborg separatists during the First Galactic War, Cyberstan was later reclaimed by Super Earth, with the Cyborgs imprisoned in its vast mining complexes. However, during the Second Galactic War, the Automatons invaded Cyberstan, using it as their primary base of operations in the sector.
Topography
Cyberstan is a frozen world, positioned slightly too far from its sun, leading to perpetual cold and deep layers of ice and snow. Its geography consists of vast open snowfields, frozen lake beds, scattered mountain ranges, and exposed arctic waters capable of freezing a careless Helldiver within seconds. Despite its harsh conditions, Cyberstan once served as the capital of the Cyborg separatists, making it a strategic target in both Galactic Wars.
History
Cyberstan was the homeworld of the Cyborg separatists, a faction of human colonists who became obsessed with cybernetic enhancements, replacing their organic bodies with machinery. Believing themselves to be superior, they waged war against Super Earth in the First Galactic War. After a brutal campaign, the Cyborgs were defeated, and Cyberstan was forcibly reintegrated into democracy. Super Earth stationed troops on the planet for five years to oversee its transition, while the surviving Cyborgs were imprisoned deep within the planet’s mines.
The planet remained under Super Earth control until the Automatons launched their invasion on April 9, 2184. A massive fleet, hidden for decades, emerged from deep space and struck the Valdis Sector, taking Cyberstan and its neighboring planets within hours. The Automatons overwhelmed Super Earth defenses and cut off all communications, preventing any organized resistance. SEAF forces were caught off guard, as Helldivers were primarily focused on the ongoing Terminid front.
Investigations into the invasion are ongoing, with some intelligence reports suggesting that the Automatons may have received aid from Cyborg factions still present within the mines. Whether the Automatons are acting independently or under Cyborg influence remains uncertain. Regardless, Cyberstan now serves as the enemy’s stronghold, making it one of the most heavily fortified and dangerous planets in the sector.
