Overview of Clasa
Clasa is one of the six planets in the Tanis Sector, once a forgotten but thriving Super Earth colony before it fell into Automaton hands. With its swampy terrain and key strategic position, Clasa became a major forward operations base for the Automaton invasion, cutting off several crucial FTL connections and allowing enemy forces to expand deeper into Super Earth-controlled space.
Topography
Clasa shares similarities with X-45, featuring vast swampy regions, dense fog, and thick vegetation. The planet’s muddy terrain and high humidity make navigation difficult, while its low visibility conditions provide natural cover for enemy operations. Despite its hostile environment, Clasa was once a productive colony, providing valuable resources before falling to the Automaton war machine.
History
For much of its history, Clasa remained a relatively unknown and distant colony, settled sometime after the First Galactic War. Unlike many of its neighboring planets, Clasa was peacefully inhabited and prosperous, but its remote location left it vulnerable to external threats. The Automatons, driven by their expansionist programming, saw Clasa’s capitalist prosperity as an affront to their ideals and sought to eliminate its existence.
By September 2184, the Tanis Sector had become an active warfront, with the Automatons pushing to secure vital supply lines after their failure to capture Imber. With Helldivers stretched thin, having to combat both the Terminids and Automatons simultaneously, enemy forces at Vog-Sojoth launched a two-pronged assault on September 18th, targeting both Clasa and Claorell. The bulk of the attack fell on Clasa, overwhelming the colony’s defenders.
Clasa fell on September 19th, becoming a crucial stronghold for the Automatons, as its strategic position effectively cut off Zefia, Demiurg, and Yed Prior from the Super Earth FTL network. Despite its importance, the Helldivers struggled to retake it, as ongoing conflicts elsewhere demanded immediate attention.
Between October and December, the Automatons at Clasa launched multiple offensives, striking at Zefia, Yed Prior, and Demiurg. While the Helldivers managed to defend Demiurg, both Zefia and Yed Prior fell, allowing the Automatons to reconnect the Tanis and Gellert Sectors. With newly established FTL routes, they continued their offensive, capturing Blistica, Mintoria, and Zzaniah Prime, solidifying their grip on the Tanis Sector and expanding their hold on the Gellert Sector.
As of now, Clasa remains an entrenched Automaton stronghold, serving as a critical hub for their forces. Its liberation remains a priority, but Super Earth’s forces must first overcome the mounting challenges posed by the growing Automaton presence.
