Overview of Achernar Secundus

Achernar Secundus is one of the four planets within the Borgus Sector, home to a major Factory Hub operated by Admiral Defense (AM). The planet played a vital role in Helldiver military operations and became the first recorded planet to be attacked by two different factions simultaneously.

Topography

The planet features terrain similar to Oshaune and Acamar IV, with lush green pastures and water bodies suitable for agriculture and fishing.

History

Achernar Secundus remained a peaceful Super Earth colony until October 13th, 2184, when the Terminids launched a surprise invasion, aiming to flank SEAF defenses and capture Turing’s Xenoentomology Center. Despite fierce resistance from colonists, the defense lines began to collapse. However, following the liberation of Darius II on October 14th, 30,000 Super Destroyers reinforced Achernar’s defenders, leading to a successful defense by 13:00 SEST, securing the Borgus Sector.

On December 11th, 2184, the Ministry of Defense awarded a multitrillion-Supercredit contract to Admiral Defense (AM) for expanding Helldiver military equipment production. A massive Factory Hub was constructed on Achernar Secundus, generating millions of jobs. However, rising Terminid activity in nearby sectors led to fears of an imminent attack. Helldivers were ordered to protect the factory’s construction, but the mission was abruptly canceled when the Illuminate launched a major invasion on Calypso. Despite the withdrawal of Helldiver forces, AM Defense completed the Factory Hub on December 17th, ensuring Fast Recon Vehicle (FRV) production for future battles.

With most Helldivers deployed elsewhere, Achernar Secundus was left vulnerable. The SEAF garrison prepared for a Terminid assault, but on December 19th, an Illuminate raiding party unexpectedly attacked the planet, targeting urban settlements and AM Defense personnel. In response, the Helldivers rapidly deployed to repel the invasion, defeating the Illuminate in under six hours, safeguarding both the Factory Hub and planetary stability.
