The Warp Ship is a transport aircraft and enemy emplacement created by the Illuminate. It serves as both a reinforcement vessel and a deployable spawn point for enemy forces.

Spawning

Warp Ships appear in two variations: Grounded Warp Ships and Reinforcement Warp Ships.

Grounded Warp Ships function like Automaton Fabricators and Terminid Bug Holes, periodically releasing Voteless from their bay doors within Illuminate Encampments.
Reinforcement Warp Ships arrive after a Watcher calls for reinforcements, deploying enemy forces via a tractor beam from their underside.

Behavior

Grounded Warp Ships remain stationary, acting as spawn points for Illuminate forces. Their energy shields absorb incoming fire and regenerate if left undamaged for 10 seconds.

Reinforcement Warp Ships fly in when reinforcements are requested, hovering briefly while projecting a teleportation beam that instantly delivers enemy troops to the ground.

Tactics

  • Grounded Warp Ships must be destroyed via their bay doors using grenades or explosive weapons with a minimum demolition force of 20.
  • Offensive stratagems with a demolition force of 50+ can destroy them externally.
  • Long-fuse grenades must be “cooked” to prevent them from bouncing off the ramp and missing their target.
  • Warp Ship energy shields glow neon blue at full capacity and shift to purple as they weaken. Shields regenerate after 10 seconds of inactivity, making continuous fire essential.
  • Weapons with sustained fire and large magazines, such as the LAS-16 Sickle and Machine Gun support weapons, are recommended for quickly breaking shields.
  • Stratagems such as the Orbital Gas Strike, Orbital Laser, Orbital Precision Strike, Orbital Railcannon Strike, Eagle 500kg Bomb, and SEAF Artillery will instantly destroy a Warp Ship, even if its shields are active.
  • SEAF Artillery: Smoke, Static, and Napalm require direct hits, as their explosions lack sufficient demolition force to bypass shields.
  • Most standard and support weapons cannot damage unshielded Warp Ships except for Demo 50 stratagems or Demo 20 explosives targeting the bay door.
  • The FAF-14 Spear can lock onto parked Warp Ships from specific angles but is ineffective due to their resistances.
  • Reinforcement Warp Ships lack shields and can be destroyed similarly to Dropships.
  • A single rocket from the FAF-14 Spear will destroy a Reinforcement Warp Ship immediately.
  • One GR-8 Recoilless Rifle shot, two EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit rockets, or two E/AT-12 Anti-Tank Emplacement shots to the center of the warp port will also destroy it instantly.
  • Warp Ships have armored sides, which can be stripped away with sustained fire, but attacking the sides of an airborne Warp Ship is ineffective unless using the FAF-14 Spear.
